The internet never ceases to amaze me! I’ve discovered yet another intriguing website that offers some unusual and appealing resources.
Poodwaddle provides a home page with a search engine, clock, calendar, notepad, and advanced search form. What they also offer is a custom home page for each user, and there are numerous widgets than can be added to any custom built home page. Some of these widgets are highly interesting and/or practical. Poodwaddle is ad supported, but in a very nice touch, the ads can be disabled.
The widgets that Poodwaddle offers, however, are also available to be embedded anywhere else on the web. They could easily be used to enhance teacher or student web pages. Take a look at a few that I’ve embedded below. It seems that these applications don’t show up in Google Reader, so if you’re not already there, you’ll have to go right to my blog to see what I mean. (There is, of course, a great deal more to Poodwaddle than this sort of embeddable widgets, so be sure to check it out for yourself.)
