NASA Images (online resource)

NASA deserves a great deal of credit for all that it shares online. There have been numerous news releases this weekend about yet another wonderful resource from NASA. The latest venture is being put together in collaboration with the Internet Archive.
NASA Images is a searchable library of still images and videos that may be freely downloaded and used for educational purposes. The collection is arranged into four main categories. Images can also be searched according to how they fit into NASA’s space flight projects. You can see the categories and how they are arranged on the user interface of the main page of the new wetsite, which is shown below.

NASA Images has incorporated several features that make it especially easy to work with. The screenshot below shows an example of the description that accompanies each image, as well as the convenient buttons for downloading or embedding the image. I think it is especially helpful that html code has been provided for each image so that the image, along with the accompanying description, can be embedded easily anywhere else on the web.
