One other consideration for any site host is how permanent (and how easy to download, as you note).

I checked on SynthaSite which is currently a beta site which means it is still being tested out. This is an advantage in that one can help the design and implementation but I wouldn't put my one and only copy of my thesis or practicum on the site.

Thanks Joe. Karl's comment may have been a "shameless plug", but it was helpful nonetheless. I appreciate that he didn't write disparagingly about Synthasite. He was quite right in stating that Synthasite is better suited for creating simple and uncomplicated sites. After taking a careful look, I believe that Webnode offers much more. If I had concluded otherwise, I probably would not have written the follow up post.

As for Karl's English...I only wish I could write as well in languages other than English! --Paul

LOL - quite obvious that Karl is from Webnode - what a shameless plug (which obviously worked, judging from your next post Paul).

Karl's English and spelling is terrible, and he said his website is Webnode which is based in Czech Republic...

I recommend you to try WEBNODE.com. It is alsoo free, but webnode is feature-wise better than Synthasite. As Synthasite is mainly for sipmle websites, you can create profesional looking pages with articles, polls, forums products etc.
