Another extremely high quality interactive learning resource to engage, extend and re-enforce. This website is a wonderful gift to anyone involved in teaching fundamental reading skills at the primary level. I believe this is the best that I’ve seen to date.

Literactive provides a systematic and balanced program to support learning of basic reading skills. Targeted at pre-school, kindergarten, and grade 1, I believe the site is accurate in saying, “The program is comprised of carefully levelled guided readers, comprehensive phonic activities and a wealth of supplemental reading material which gradually develop a child’s reading skills in a sequential and enjoyable manner.”

The online reading material and corresponding activities at Literactive appear to be well thought out. It’s all very appealing and engaging, without being busy or cluttered. Blackline masters are available for download as pdf files.

Literactive’s activities are supposed to be available to download for use off-line as well. The activities work brilliantly online, but I can’t get the downloads to work. Nor have I been able to make contact with the site’s developers to resolve the download glitch. So as long as the learner can be online, Literactive offers a wonderful resource for learning, extending and re-enforcing fundamental reading skills.
