artPad (online resource)

Welcome to this Treasure Chest of Free Stuff.
For some of us, technology has opened doors that allow us entry into a wonderful new world of creative expression. The online resource I’m featuring today offers both the means of creating art and some convenient ways of sharing it. I’m listing this under Content & Curriculum.
artPad (online resource) This is an online studio where anyone who is so inclined can create art with a mouse. The user interface is simple, and the tools are limited, but the creative possibilities are infinite. Here are a few examples of digital “paintings” that are in Art Pad’s gallery. (Click on the thumbnails below to enlarge. Use your browser’s back button to return to the blog.)
Click the link below to view my Christmas card, created for you in artPad. (My artistic talent may be limited, but the wishes are sincere. You will need to wait for a moment to see my “brush” strokes begin. Mercifully, the process has been accelerated considerably, and you can speed it up even more.) http://artpad.art.com/?jaowcmdinis
Art.com would like to sell you prints and posters, but there is no charge for using artPad to create paintings. You can “hang” your paintings in the artPad “gallery”. You can email copies of your creations to friends and family. Or, you can send a link for someone to view your work in the artPad gallery. There is even more fun to be had at artPad, but I’ll let you discover that for yourself.
